⏱️ Nancy Parenteau is a woman who wears many hats. Network planning engineer. Project manager. Mom. Bostonian. Brave soul.

Oh yes, brave. Not just because she is a marathon runner. Not just because she is incredibly well-traveled as a former flight attendant. But Nancy is the special kind of brave person who ran the New York Marathon wearing a Boston Red Sox cap*.

* For the record. Nancy told us, “Everyone was very nice.” But she’s also very gracious, so … 🤷

✈️ How did you become a flight attendant?

I had just graduated college, my dad had just passed away, and a friend of mine who used to be a flight attendant told me her airline was hiring. It was really fast-paced and fast-moving, and when you're 22, that sounds really fun.

🏗️ What’s your biggest challenge at work?

For the past year, I’ve been working on a new project. It’s a challenge because the processes are all happening outside our normal processes.

🧗 What’s your biggest challenge in life?

Work-life balance. Making sure I'm giving my all to work, but also giving my all as a mom and as a wife.

🫂 Is Verizon is making the world a better place?

Yes. I wish everyone could see all the different robotics equipment we have -- what it can do and what Verizon has helped build. There’s robotic medical equipment surgeons can use to do surgery from a different country.

🏆 What does it take to succeed at Verizon?

You need to advocate for yourself.

🥌 Do you have any hobbies?

Two book clubs. I just started one at Verizon and we’re about to dive into a beachy, fluffy type of book. I also do a book club with a couple of moms in town.
