Refer a Friend monthly mobile bill credit FAQs

You can refer friends to switch to Verizon with a Refer a Friend code. When your friends bring at least 1 mobile phone line from another carrier:

• They get a $15/month credit for each qualifying line for 12 months. That’s a total of $180 per line for each qualified line they add.
• You get a $15/month credit toward your bill for 12 months for each friend who uses your referral code to switch to Verizon.* Refer as many friends as you want:
  • You can receive up to 10 credits at a time, for up to $150/month in credits.**
  • You can track the status of your referrals and credits on the Refer a Friend dashboard.

*Your friend must keep that line and plan active and in good standing for at least 30 days for you to get the referral credit.
**You can earn credits that total up to but not more than the amount of your monthly bill.

You can earn a $15/month account level credit for 12 months for qualified referrals. The total amount of credits you get from your referrals:

• Can't be more than your total bill amount that month.
• You can receive up to 10 referral credits at any one time, for up to a total of $150/month in referral credits.
• Excess credit amounts will not be carried over to the next bill(s) or refunded.

The friends you refer get a $15/month per line credit for 12 months when they bring 1 mobile phone line from another carrier and purchase a qualifying plan. That line can't have been active on the Verizon network for at least the past 90 days.

They can get another $15/month credit for each additional mobile phone line they activate within 30 days of opening their new account, for a total of up to 12 phone lines.

The Refer a Friend credits are automatically applied to your mobile account balance each month. Credits earned by referring friends will be applied to your bill total. Credits that friends receive when they use a referral code will be applied to eligible mobile lines.

You can't use Refer a Friend monthly credits for security deposits, down payments for device payment plans, late fees or unpaid balances from a previous billing cycle.

As the person referring your friends, you can have up to 10 of the $15/month Refer a Friend credits at any given time (totalling up to $150/month).

However your credits can't be more than the amount of your monthly bill (e.g., if your bill is $60/month, you can have 4 of the $15/month credits). We won't apply credits in excess of your bill amount in any month. And any excess credit amounts will not carry over to a future bill or be refunded to you.

The Refer a Friend dashboard in My Verizon keeps you up to date on your credits.

Yes, you can have the Refer a Friend credit at the same time as other device promotions and special offers.

However those who you refer can't have both a Refer a Friend credit and certain offers to switch to Verizon that require a redemption code (e.g., Friends and Family).

Anyone on your account can share a referral code who is:

• On a Verizon account with at least one standard monthly mobile phone plan or Unlimited connected device plan.
• At least 18 years old.

Note: Business customers, Verizon employees and third-party agents aren't eligible to participate. Fios and wireless home internet only customers are not eligible.

You can send referral codes to as many people as you want. All of your qualified referrals will get their $15/month/line credit. However, as the referer, you can receive a maximum of 10 referral credits at a time, for up to $150/month in credits:

• If you have 10 referral credits on your account, no new credits will be issued to you until the number of monthly credits drops below 10.
• You'll be notified that you've reached your maximum number of referral credits.

The Refer a Friend dashboard in My Verizon lets you track the status of your referrals.

As the referring person, get started by using any device on your Verizon mobile phone plan to generate a Refer a Friend code:

1. Visit the Refer a Friend dashboard in My Verizon.
2. Click the generated code.
3. Share the generated code with family and friends by text, email, QR code, link, etc.
   • Each code is unique, can be used only once and expires after 60 days
   • You can view the code's progress on the Refer a Friend dashboard.
4. Your friend gets an invitation explaining their options to switch to Verizon with their referral code. They can use the link in the referral message to visit the Refer a Friend homepage and choose to either:
   1. Switch - Follow the prompts to change to Verizon and use their referral code. The Refer a Friend credit is applied to the new account's first bill. The credit may be prorated depending on when in the bill cycle they join. After your friend has service for 30 days, you get the first of your 12 monthly credits (the credit is applied within 1 or 2 bill cycles).
   2. Free Trial - Follow the prompts for a 30 day Free Trial of Verizon service. After the trial ends, your friend has 60 days to redeem the Refer a Friend code you sent and switch to Verizon.

Yes, but your friend can only redeem 1 code.

Use the Refer a Friend dashboard in My Verizon to view your details:

• Get and send referral codes.
• View the status of referral codes you've sent.
• View referral credits you've received.
• Find out how much you're saving on your monthly bill.

The Refer a Friend dashboard shows the status of your referral credits.

You can change to any qualifying mobile phone plan and your Refer a Friend credits won't be affected. If you change to a non-qualifying plan, here's what happens:

• For you (the referring person) - You must keep at least 1 standard monthly mobile phone plan or Unlimited connected device plan on your account or your monthly credits will stop. The credits of those you referred aren't affected if you change to a non-qualifying plan.
• For your friends (the referred person) - Their monthly credits stop if the line(s) getting the monthly credits are changed to a non-qualifying plan. The credits that you (the referring person) earned for the referral aren't affected, unless the change to a non-qualifying plan happens within 30 days of line activation).

Here's what happens if those with Refer a Friend credits cancel their Verizon service:

• If you (the referring person) cancel your Verizon mobile account, the Refer a Friend credits stop.
• If your friend (the referred person) cancels or transfers the line(s) getting the monthly Refer a Friend credit within 30 days of opening the account, their credits stop and your credits also stop. After the 30-day requirement, you (the referring person) keep the credit for the full 12 months even if the person you referred to Verizon cancels their service.
