Verizon early upgrade for smartphones FAQs

With early upgrades you can buy an eligible smartphone and turn it in after 30 days and payment of at least 50% of the purchase price to upgrade to a new eligible smartphone on a device payment agreement.

To participate, you need to:

• Purchase and activate an eligible smartphone on a Verizon device payment agreement before the offer end date below.

• Pay at least 50% of the smartphone's retail price.
• Return the eligible smartphone in good working condition with no significant damage, as determined by Verizon, within 30 days after you upgrade.

Yes. If you pre-order an eligible smartphone on a Verizon mobile device payment agreement and activate it, you're eligible for the early upgrade program.

No, you don't need to make the remaining payments.

You can upgrade a device if your account is not past due and you bought the device you want to replace:

• At retail price – you can upgrade to a new device any time.
• With a device payment agreement – you can upgrade when any of these applies:
  • You paid off your device payment agreement.*
  • You do an early upgrade.
  • You bought your device at a discount for signing a 2-year contract and that contract ended.

*When you pay off your device agreement, any monthly promotional credits you get for that device will stop.
