Secure Gateway – Mobile User

(formerly IP VPN Remote Services – Network Based)

 

I.          PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

 

Secure Gateway – Mobile User is a Virtual Private Network solution utilizing internet protocol (VPN).  Secure Gateway – Mobile User is a solution where the encryption functionality will be based mainly on hardware and software based on the Company’s network (the points of presence, network hubs, and host computers utilized to provide an Internet-based service).  Customer can create a VPN solution that uses different encryption and access technologies with the common interface of the network based hardware and software.  Secure Gateway – Mobile User enables Authorized Users to use the public Internet, cable modem, xDSL, or other IP networks to more securely access Customer’s site(s) through its existing Option 1 Frame Relay, Option 1 ATM, Option 1 Private IP, or IP VPN Dedicated Service.  At this time, Secure Gateway – Mobile User is not compatible with Option 2 Frame Relay, Option 2 ATM or Option 2 Private IP.

 

A.         Description of Secure Gateway – Mobile User Elements:  Secure Gateway – Mobile User is comprised of certain shared equipment and software on Company’s network, dial service, and Dedicated Access.

 

1.         Shared Network Equipment:  Secure Gateway – Mobile User has a port charge on the network equipment that is bundled with a permanent virtual circuit (“PVC”) charge for Secure Gateway – Mobile User.  Customer may need to increase the port bandwidth on the underlying Dedicated Access to allow for traffic associated with Secure Gateway – Mobile User.  Bundled port charges are found in the Pricing Section below.

 

2.         Dial Service:  Dial service is a requirement of Secure Gateway – Mobile User.  The Customer may choose with standard or corporate level SLAs or Customer may use its existing Enterprise Mobility Dial Access.  If Customer has existing Enterprise Mobility Dial Access, the terms and conditions shall be superseded in their entirety by the terms and conditions contained herein, except for any Special Pricing.  Company will honor any Special Pricing and discounts in Customer’s existing Enterprise Mobility Dial Access.

 

3.         Dedicated Access:  Dedicated Access to the Company network is provided via Customer’s existing Option 1 Frame Relay, Option 1 ATM, Option 1 Private IP, or IP VPN Dedicated Service and pursuant to the agreement between Customer and Company for such service. 

 

II.          DEFINITIONS 

 

A.         The definitions contained in the General Definitions, as described elsewhere in the Guide, apply to IP VPN Remote.

 

III.         FEATURES AND OPTIONS 

 

At this time, Secure Gateway – Mobile User is not compatible with Option 2 Frame Relay, Option 2 ATM or Option 2 Private IP. 

 

IV.        RATES AND CHARGES:  Rates and charges for Secure Gateway-Mobile User may be found in Customer’s Service Agreement or related attachments.

 

V.         TERMS AND CONDITIONS 

 

A.         VPN Design:  The design of the VPN shall be provided by Company based on information provided by Customer to Company.  It is the Customer's responsibility to provide all information reasonably requested by Company in connection with the provision of the VPN and to ensure that all such information is accurate, complete and up-to-date.  Customer understands that should Customer desire to change the design of this VPN, the design must be mutually agreed in writing prior to implementation of such change and that the change shall still fall within acceptable Company product parameters. 

 

B.         Technical Obligations:  Customer agrees to:  (a) be responsible for the compliance of its authorized end users (“End Users”) with the End User Terms & Conditions set forth below; (b) designate and maintain an authorized System Administrator responsible for administering End User accounts; (c) be solely responsible for all End User accounts, support, billing, and collections, as applicable; and (d) be solely responsible for the set-up, administration, and maintenance via secure connection of all End User accounts, including without limitation dial-up access authorizations and End User identifications and passwords.  Company shall provide second-level technical support to Customer regarding the administration of End User accounts, and reserves the right to access and revise any Service Equipment configuration where required to satisfy the obligations of the Agreement.  Company shall not be responsible for the inaccuracy or disclosure of any configuration to end users.

 

1.         End User Terms & Conditions:

 

1.1       Company exercises no control over the content of the information passing through Company Network, including without limitation Company’s host computers, network hubs, and points of presence.  Company MAKES NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, FOR THE NETWORK BASED SERVICES AND DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

 

1.2       Secure Gateway – Mobile User is provided to Customer’s authorized End Users only.  Resale to or use by other persons or entities is prohibited.  Company will not be responsible for any damage an End User suffers.  This includes damages resulting from loss of data due to delays, nondeliveries, misdeliveries, or service interruptions.  Use of any information obtained via the Network is at the End User’s own risk.

 

1.3       Use of the Secure Gateway – Mobile User s subject to the Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) for the country in which an End User connects to the Network, as set forth at http://www.verizonbusiness.com/terms, and if no Policy exists for that country, the U.S. Policy shall apply.  Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate an End User’s account for any actual or threatened violation of the Policy.
