Today on Up To Speed Live:

Verizon hits the big screen.

Verizon Innovative Learning is in the spotlight with a new BBC film series, “The Human Component.” This series dives into how tech can solve big world issues like climate change and education gaps. And, one episode even stars Verizon’s Chief Corporate Social Responsibility Officer Rose Stuckey Kirk, who talks about the power of tech in schools, especially for students who need it most.

The action was filmed at Lady Bird Johnson Middle School in Irving, Texas, where they threw a big watch party to celebrate the premiere.

Plus, Coastal Plains Market President Michelle Miller hosted a great conversation about the Verizon Innovative Learning program with some key leaders including Ryan Higgins, who manages Corporate Social Responsibility; James Tiggeman, the Director of STEM and Innovation from the Irving School District; and Patrick Yates, a teacher at Lady Bird Middle School who’s featured in the film.

Help them get ready for a school year full of tech by donating backpacks and STEM supplies through the Citizen Verizon Volunteers portal. Don't forget to toss in some encouraging words about your own experiences or a simple cheer. Your support changes lives.

Congratulations to these V Teamers!

It’s a V Team wedding.
Congratulations to V Teamer Kyle White, who got married in Puerto Rico during the Winner's Circle event! Kyle, a retail specialist from our Starkville, Mississippi store, had his team, including the Retail Director and Senior Director, cheering him and his spouse on virtually. What a wonderful celebration! We wish Kyle and your wife many good days to come.

Let’s go Steven!
Last night, we spotted Steve Weston, a marketing manager in Consumer Digital Marketing, on TV during the Yankees game, proudly wearing his Verizon gear. Congrats to Steven for being honored as the Veteran of the Game for his 22 years of active duty service and nine deployments. Great to see a member of our Verizon family recognized for his dedication.
