Palo Alto VA Partnership
Verizon Business, in partnership with the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Medical Center, recently announced the deployment of a private 5G network at the Palo Alto VA Medical Center. Verizon private 5G and 5G Edge will provide campus-wide hybrid commercial and private 5G network coverage.
This announcement is a continuation of the broader partnership between the United States Department of Veteran Affairs that started in 2020.
Verizon Business Award
The Verizon Business Global Product Team took home UC Today’s award for Best Microsoft Teams Solution at this year’s UC Awards, spotlighting Verizon Mobile for Microsoft Teams.
UC Today is the leading online publication for Unified Communications news, and with this award, Verizon gained top honors over five other finalists.
Judging is based on an organization’s ability to demonstrate innovation, improved experience and execution.
Rootmetrics
Today, we announced that Verizon’s network is once again the network to beat for performance, accessibility and reliability in a majority of 125 metro markets tested by RootMetrics®.
In these rigorous and scientific network tests, Verizon’s network was undefeated in 97% of the metro drive tests performed in the first half of 2023, as well as in the category of network accessibility in 85% of the markets tested. Plus, we were undefeated in 93% of the metro markets when it comes to network reliability.
Network Upgrades
Verizon has exciting news for our customers in Washington, DC, and Richmond, VA. According to Rootmetrics, the nation’s most rigorous scientific testing company, our recent network upgrades are giving you the very best experience on Verizon's network.
These upgrades include deploying new cell sites to extend coverage and capacity in local communities, adding more fiber optic cables to move more data through the network and adding bandwidth to the cellular network to accommodate new services like wireless internet service for homes and businesses.
A conversation with Wendy Taccetta
Jen introduced PACT’s Executive Sponsor and Verizon Consumer Group’s SVP of the Retail and Partner Management Team, Wendy Taccetta.
Wendy characterized PACT as a “heart project” and said that “life sometimes gets complicated. And when we think of parents and caregivers, they’re some of the most important roles that are out there – they don’t come with pay, and they don’t come with a whole lot of time off.” PACT is a community to have conversations about people’s lives and to recognize that you’re not alone.
This year’s theme for PACT’s month is: The ImPACT of self-care, a personal journey of wellbeing. At the beginning of the year, Wendy challenged individuals to make a personal pact with themselves and stick to it.
On August 10, Wendy will be having a conversation with a panel of guests for what we call “ImPACTful Conversations”, where we’ll be dispelling the myth of work-life balance. I hope you all tune in.
Jen also played a video showcasing just how much this ERG means to its members, and as if one guest wasn’t enough, Jen welcomed PACT ERG Global Chair Gloria Jackson.
Gloria described how this month means a lot to her as a mother, especially when considering how “parents and caregivers grappled with remote learning to caring for families, all while maintaining careers” during the pandemic. Gloria expressed gratitude to Verizon for allocating the “time, resources and platform to establish a community where parents and caregivers can be celebrated and supported.”
