Happy Friday, V Team! On today’s episode of Up To Speed, host Raquel Wilson took us through a recap of all the topics we covered this week on Up To Speed and shared some exciting announcements.

The ultimate recap

Raquel reminded viewers about our recent RootMetrics win, the Pixel 6A launch and National Intern Day, which was yesterday, July 28th.

On Tuesday’s episode, we met V Teamer Drew Darling who used Verizon’s Health benefits to help his daughter Reese receive life-saving spinal surgery so she could stay healthy and continue doing the things she loves.

And on Thursday, we heard from George on George Talks Tech about Xbox All Access giving gamers the ultimate gaming experience at a great price.

Disney+ – on us.

On the subject of entertainment–have you been binge watching anything on Disney+ lately? Verizon Prepaid is now offering Disney + on us for 6 months on unlimited plans. That means you’ll now have the ability to enjoy more of your favorite Disney shows.

In a time when getting the most bang for your buck is so important, we’re proud to offer choice and value on the best prepaid 5G Unlimited plan in the nation.

So, what does that mean? If you upgrade or sign up for a Verizon Prepaid unlimited plan or know anyone who would like to, let them know about the world-class entertainment options they’ll be able to stream from Disney+, including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic offerings and more.

Business Group Making Moves All Around the Country

On Wednesday, Verizon Business showcased the real-world impact of 5G Ultra Wideband and Mobile Edge Compute on the sports and entertainment industry, and beyond, at the award-winning State Farm Arena in Atlanta as part of their 5G Innovation Session series.

Executives from the Atlanta Hawks, Ericsson, Verizon Business and other innovative companies shared the value and importance of digital transformation through a number of scenarios, including an interactive cityscape, near real-time crowd analytics, autonomous shopping, 5G-accelerated Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) deployments, and more.

Raquel shared a clip of Verizon Business’s stop last week in Boston as part of the Verizon National Elite Value Added Resellers Roadshow. Verizon Business has been hard at work co-creating and co-selling by working with its partner teams.

Speaking of which–it’s time to start your engines! This past Sunday, Verizon Frontline supported a ceremonial first lap in honor of first responders at the NASCAR race at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. This included a number of state and local public safety agency representatives and multiple police, fire and emergency medical services vehicles. It was also the debut of the new Verizon Frontline paint scheme on Team Penske’s No. 22 Ford Mustang, driven by Joey Logano.

Verizon Frontline will also run the ceremonial first lap at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana on Sunday, July 31.

The Future of STEM

As a telecommunications company who prides ourselves on our technology, we know the importance of STEM education, which is why we’re investing in future generations to build the future we’re proud of.

One of our ERGs, Verizon NAV, recently hosted a fun-filled and informative STEM event for Indigenous students filled with robots, interns and Verizon volunteers.

High school students from the Lumbee Tribe of NC and the Catawba Nation were treated to a day in the life at Verizon and built robots at a lab lead by Danielle Boyer, a member of the Ojibwe Sault Ste Marie Tribe and the founder of The STEAM Connection. The students also got the opportunity to explore our Verizon Technology Policy Center and learn more about 5G and technology advancements.

The network that Americans can rely on.

The city of Scranton, PA needs no introduction. And while you may know it from TV favorite The Office, it’ll now be known for having more Verizon home and business internet options along with Harrisburg, PA and Richmond, VA.

As a quick refresher: Verizon Home Internet starts at just $25 per month with AutoPay and a select 5G mobile plan – all without extra fees, equipment charges, annual contracts or data caps.

And with our Business Internet, businesses will receive ultra-fast wireless internet powered by 5G Ultra Wideband, a great option for businesses of all sizes and includes professional installation, multiple pricing and service options, unlimited data and a 10-year price guarantee for 5G Business Internet service.

These expansions are only strengthening our commitment to remaining America's most reliable 5G network.

Wrapping things up, Raquel shared a picture of V Teamer Matthew Berry who took a trip to the Mendhall Glacier, where, thanks to our 5G network, he still had cellular coverage! Even better: he was wearing his Verizon Ultra Shirt. No matter the distance, our V Teamers continue to show off their company pride.
