Happy first (working) Friday of 2021! On today’s Up To Speed Live, host Diana Alvear shared the following updates:

Fios Forward and Citizen Verizon

As you heard Hans mention yesterday, our Fios Forward program makes high-speed internet with no data caps more affordable for the people who need it most. Customers who qualify for financial assistance through Verizon Fios Forward can get it for as little as $19.99 a month wherever Fios is available.

Angie Klein, head of Consumer Segment Marketing, pointed out that Fios Forward is not a lesser service for a lower price. Instead, we are providing our highest-quality networks, speeds and services.

Rose Kirk, Chief Corporate Social Responsibility Officer, noted that digital inclusion is one of our core pillars and that Fios Forward aligns perfectly with our Citizen Verizon initiatives. As V Teamers, we can all feel proud knowing that we’re providing affordable access to critical online offerings like remote learning, telehealth and financial services.

Expansion of 5G Home and Mobile

We’re excited to announce new 5G Home and Mobile cities. Starting January 14, Miami, San Francisco, Anaheim, CA, St Louis and Arlington, TX, join the 5G Home family. Phoenix joins on January 28.

Not only that, later this month customers in parts of Colorado Springs, CO, Columbia, SC, and Knoxville, TN, will have access to the unprecedented performance of Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband service, the fastest 5G in the world.

Week in review

It’s been a busy week. Monday’s 2021 Kickoff featured Hans and our leaders sharing priorities for the year. As always, we’ve got big goals and ambitious plans to get there. Be sure to check out the replay if you missed it.

CES is fast approaching

This upcoming Monday, the virtual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) kicks off with Hans giving the keynote address. More details will be hitting your inboxes on how to watch.

Cheers to our Virtual Response Team

We want to highlight the heroic work of the Verizon Response Team (VRT) throughout 2020, a year filled with wildfires, hurricanes, ice storms, derechos and, of course, the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the video points out, “2020 was a tough year, but for us, tough is what we do.” Tough is definitely an understatement. The team was involved in over 1,200 deployments, over 2,000 engagements, and loaned more than 5,400 devices throughout all 50 states in the U.S. And, in 2021, the team is ready to do it all again, proudly serving our customers and our communities.

That kind of work and spirit is what the V Team is all about. Let’s continue to move forward together into 2021.
