As we kick off Thanksgiving week here on Up To Speed, Andy shared the following updates:

Give back by reaching out.

Here in the United States, Thanksgiving is typically a time for large, loud and joyful gatherings of family and friends. Not so, this year. The most recent pandemic wave is keeping all of us socially distanced. Perhaps no group feels that isolation more than older adults who live alone and have been looking forward to the fellowship of the holiday season.

There is a way that you can bring light to these lives amidst the winter darkness. By simply writing a hand-written letter, you can remind someone's grandparent or loved one that they matter and are in your thoughts. Through our partnership with Love for our Elders, this volunteer opportunity will surely lift your spirits as well. It’s also a great activity to do with kids.

Check out our volunteer portal for other ways you can help older adults or others in need in your community.

Message of gratitude

Of course, Thanksgiving is about much more than turkey. It’s about taking a moment and mindfully reflecting on all of the good things in our lives. In that same spirit, Hans and members of our senior leadership shared their gratitude to all members of the V Team.

In the video message, the leaders thanked V Teamers for all that they do every day for our stakeholders: Helping individuals and communities in need, supporting one another and keeping our customers connected during these unprecedented times.

That message goes for all of us here on the Up To Speed team as well. Thank you! It’s an honor to work alongside you every day.

May you and yours enjoy a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
