Nicolas Sanchez, a Solutions Specialist and 14-year V Teamer, has always loved helping people. So it was hard when COVID-19 impacted his store in Humble, TX.

“At the beginning of the crisis, they were only having managers work in the store,” said Nicolas. “They were limiting employees for safety reasons.”

After two weeks of not going into the store, he was happy when his managers reached out. “They were asking for volunteers to go in on a rotational basis, two days a week, so I volunteered.”

Nicolas feels good serving customers again. “This is my first week back. I’ve been looking forward to it; just ready to get out of the house and help people.”

He is proud that he and his fellow V Teamers can help customers when they need it most. “I like that Verizon has always helped people, whether it was during the past hurricanes or now this. Even though we’re limited as to what we can do, customers can still come in and get the help they need.”

Nicolas is thankful for his team leaders and the work they put in going above and beyond during this challenging time. “I want to give a shout out to my managers: Brandon Leyva, Mackenzie Schmalz and Alfredo Madera. When we were the only store open, they were the ones who came up with the process and hung in there.”
