It should come as no surprise that Verizon hires across a variety of career areas from stores and sales to cybersecurity and well, technology. Between the rollout of 5G and what we see as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, technology drives us forward and helps the world connect. We like to say that we don’t wait for the future, we build it — and that’s because a great technology company uses great technology, and it’s the great people working hard behind the scenes to make that happen. And we’re not the only ones, with tech jobs expected to lead the way in 2019. Here are some of the roles we’re hiring for in the coming months and beyond:
Engineers - A broad term, engineers encompass much of what we do and as a result, we typically have engineering jobs open around the world at any given moment. Working at Verizon might mean software or network engineering, or something more specific like a role dedicated to the iOS framework or artificial intelligence. No matter the specialty in question, all of these positions require a background in computer science or relevant work experience. Developers - Like engineering, being a developer can mean different things to different parts of the business. We hire for full stack, UI, Java and more, the list goes on and on. From every corner of the earth, we have developers who dedicate their days to the cloud, while others concentrate on mobile. All are responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining their solution, working across teams to ensure we continue to deliver quality customer experiences. Data scientists - These positions support a host of functions across our business, with a special focus on the research, analysis and development of strategic technologies. This could mean Big Data or cybersecurity or even product. The day-to-day involves working with machine learning algorithms to work through datasets and come up with innovative solutions that make Verizon and our products that much smarter. To get these types of jobs, you’ll need a strong technical background, an eye for detail and a keen understanding of the way data works.
