Like many business owners, Alexandra Daras, the owner of Bernardsville, NJ-based store, The Pretty Pink Rooster Boutique, is knee deep in the 2018 holiday shopping season – and loving it. The Pretty Pink Rooster is a boutique designed for women interested in the latest jewelry and fashion trends but aren’t interested in the big spending that’s typically required to purchase them.

Daras first opened the doors to her brick and mortar boutique in 2016 – a tribute to the dream Daras had with her late father to launch the business. But the origination of the business started online – and the internet continues to be central to the boutique’s operations.

Before his untimely passing, Daras’ father always encouraged her to open the store. He instilled the values that she could accomplish anything she dreamed. And in the past two years, she’s been making that dream come true.

This holiday season, Daras has been actively preparing for and keeping her customers and community members up-to-date on the latest fashions and news during the holiday rush.

How so?

She’s integrated several creative ways to engage shoppers using her online and social media presence. This approach allows the boutique to reach not only their locally-based customers but also fashion-forward women across the country.

If the internet is down, I might as well be closed.

Alexandra Daras, small business owner

Yes, Daras has the essentials down to an art – an ecommerce site and a blog featuring guidance on how to dress for every social engagement you can imagine.

But she didn’t stop there.

Using her reliable internet connection, Daras hosts a live daily online chat every morning at 10:30am ET to talk trends, sales, and shopping guides. The interactive nature of the conversation helps her better understand what her customers are looking for during the holidays, so she can be a resource for them in picking out the perfect gift for themselves, their family members, or their friends.

If those sessions aren’t enough for a potential customer, Daras offers one more option. She sets up personal shopping sessions via mobile, so she can help the busiest of customers explore the boutique from both near and far.

While these elements help propel Daras’ business forward year-round, they are definitely keeping The Pretty Pink Rooster top-of-mind for potential shoppers looking for clothing, accessories, and gifts this season. After all, during the holidays – and always – Daras wants her customers to find these specialty items that guarantee they’re prepared for “whatever [the] day brings.”
