Nov. 1 – Verizon Messages is now available with Glympse location sharing, enhanced options to customize images with sketches, collages and captions and a quick and easy way to send audio clips. For more information, please click here.
According to a survey from Pew Research Center, 81 percent of adults with a mobile device send or receive text messages. The continued popularity of text messaging is driven by its simplicity and immediacy, but there’s always room for innovation. In the next few weeks, Verizon Wireless will incorporate the power and creativity of social media into Verizon Messages, the award-winning messaging service that launched in March 2013.
Verizon Messages utilizes the power of the cloud to bring messaging to a customer’s computer, tablet and smartphone simultaneously. Now, users will be able to quickly and easily share their real-time locations from within their text messages using Glympse, the time-based sharing service. By integrating Glympse into Verizon Messages, the need to open a separate app to share location information will be eliminated.
In addition, the Verizon Messages update will include the ability to customize photos with collages, captions and sketches; send customized postcards; and quickly record and send audio clips.
Even as the number of tasks users can control with their mobile devices continues to grow, text messaging is still king – proof that some things just keep getting better with age.
