One of San Francisco’s most anticipated events this summer is Outside Lands (Aug. 9-11), a three-day festival dedicated to some of the biggest names in music. From Paul McCartney to Nine Inch Nails, this year’s event is a music lover’s dream.
Concertgoers heading to Outside Lands or another music festival can use more than just their smartphones to capture and share their experiences so the event can be enjoyed long after it’s over.
Music buffs can snap shots and video of their favorite bands with the Samsung Galaxy Camera. Because it runs on the nation’s largest 4G LTE network, users can share photos and video through social networking sites, email and text messaging.
The GoPro HERO3 camera and its handy smartphone app allows users to capture performances. The action-friendly device attaches to just about anything, even a head strap, so shooting video of the stage from above the crowd can be done hands-free.
Keeping smartphones and other devices charged at festivals can be a challenge. Between taking pictures, locating friends in the crowd and uploading pictures to Instagram, attendees will likely need some backup power. The Mophie Juice Pack Powerstation, an external battery specially designed to provide rapid charging power for mobile devices, gives devices that much-needed boost so festival goers (and their phones) can rock on.
To increase network coverage and capacity in and around the Polo Fields at Golden Gate Park during Outside Lands, Verizon Wireless has deployed three COWs (Cells on Wheels). The temporary network equipment will help concertgoers connect and easily share their festival experiences.
