Verizon customers have another reason to celebrate – an awarded network as ranked by the nation’s top consumer study. For the 4th consecutive reporting period, J.D. Power has ranked Verizon the top wireless network in the Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, Mid-Atlantic, and West Regions. Verizon also achieved the highest score in all three quality categories: calling, messaging, and data. For the 17th time in a row, Verizon has received more awards than any other provider in the J.D. Power Wireless Network Quality Study. This comes on the heels of the recent RootMetrics National Rootscore® Report that ranked Verizon’s network highest in overall network performance for the sixth consecutive testing period.

According to the latest J.D. Power 2016 Wireless Network Quality Performance Study℠, Volume 2, Verizon Wireless achieved the highest score in all three quality categories: calling, messaging, and data in five markets across the nation. J.D. Power measured calls dropped or disconnected, calls not connected on the first try, calls with audio problems, failed/late voicemail notifications, voicemail with failed calls, text message transmission failures, late/failed received text messages, Web connection errors/failures to load, slow mobile Web, and email connection errors.

A key variable in our network success is our consistent capital investment in our wireless network. Since 2000, we have invested more than $111 billion across the U.S.

Verizon installed more than 1,500 new cell sites and added XLTE technology to more than 1,700 sites across the country from January to July, to accommodate exponential data usage growth and to enable customers to experience an unmatched level of reliable connectivity.

And because rural coverage also matters, Verizon’s LTE in Rural America (LRA) program includes 21 participants spanning 15 states and representing communities in 169 rural counties. The 21 LRA participants combined currently reach over 2.7 million people while covering approximately 120,000 square miles of America’s rural areas with 4G LTE, an area larger than the state of Arizona.
