Starting today (August 21), FXX begins airing what’s to be the longest single-series marathon in TV history when it airs all 552 episodes of The Simpsons back-to-back in chronological order. The marathon will run for 12 days and nights.

If I’m doing the math correctly, not including typical commercial time, that’s 11,592 minutes or 193.2 hours of raw Simpsons viewing!

FiOS customers can watch on FXX channel 691 (HD); 191 (SD).

Cartoonist Matt Groening brought The Simpsons to life in 1987, but the cartoon was merely a small feature on Fox’s The Tracy Ullman Show. It wasn’t until 1990 that Groening and The Simpsons landed their own prime-time series. The rest is a record-setting, 25-season history.

According to the New York Times’ ArtsBeat blog, these are the episode’s you don’t want to miss.

Revisit the series’ unforgettable supporting cast and hysterical cameos starting today only on FXX.
