Verizon FiOS1 to Broadcast ‘Battle at Bethpage III’ Lacrosse Matchups

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Verizon FiOS TV customers in New York and New Jersey can get their fix of college lacrosse when Verizon FiOS1 broadcasts the two games that are part of this year’s Battle at Bethpage III. 

This year, the competition will feature the fast-rising St. John’s University men’s team taking on Georgetown University, and C.W. Post, the defending women’s Division II National Champion, taking on Merrimack College.  

The women’s game will air at 7:30 p.m. on April 10, and the men’s game at 7:30 p.m. on April 12, both exclusively on Verizon FiOS1, Channel 1 on the FiOS channel lineup.  The games also will be available through FiOS TV’s video-on-demand service in the two regions as well.

The Battle at Bethpage III games will be played on Saturday (April 6) at Bethpage High School, with the women’s game starting at 10 a.m., followed by the men’s game at 2 p.m.  Fans can visit the Verizon booth and enter to win two tickets to an upcoming New York Mets game at Citi Field.  Verizon representatives will be on hand to talk about FiOS TV, FiOS Quantum Internet service, and the latest FiOS offers.

“This is the third year that Verizon FiOS1 – our news and community channel – has broadcast these great games and sponsored this important Long Island lacrosse event,” said Orlando Martinez, FiOS1’s director of local sports programming.  “We’re happy to partner with the Bethpage Educational Foundation and the Town of Oyster Bay to present this great yearly tournament to our metro area viewers.”
