NEW YORK - As part of Verizon's continuous expansion of its FiOS TV channel lineup, the company announced today that it has started adding GMA Pinoy TV, a 24-hour general interest channel broadcast in Tagalog, one of the major languages spoken in the Philippines.

Filipinos in parts of New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Rhode Island where FiOS TV is available can now enjoy GMA Pinoy TV, the first international channel from leading broadcast company GMA Network and one of the Philippines' top television stations.  Verizon will launch GMA Pinoy TV in all remaining FiOS TV markets during the next few months.

"Verizon continues to enhance the FiOS TV channel lineup with some of the industry's most compelling content," said Terry Denson, vice president - FiOS TV content and programming.  "We are delighted to add GMA Pinoy TV to our expanding lineup of multicultural channels, and we're committed to offering more and more special interest programming."

GMA Pinoy TV's entertainment programs feature the current No. 1 primetime program in the Philippines, "Dyesebel," and other similarly exciting and popular shows such as "Codename: Asero," "Ako si Kim Samsoon" and "Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan."  In addition, the channel offers award-winning news and public affairs programs that include flagship newscast "24 Oras" and public affairs programs "I-Witness," "Emergency," "Imbestigador" and "Wish Ko Lang," among others.  These programs are reported by veteran and award-winning broadcast journalists Mike Enriquez, Mel Tiangco, Jessica Soho, Arnold Clavio, Vicky Morales and others.

Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., GMA Network's executive vice president and chief operating officer, said, "GMA Network is pleased and honored to serve the Filipino community where FiOS TV is available through GMA Pinoy TV's quality programs, which undoubtedly bring them closer to home."

Verizon FiOS TV already offers an extensive lineup of multicultural content, including premium international channels broadcast in multiple languages including Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese.
