ROANOKE -- Bell Atlantic today rolled out the new 1999-2000 cover
design that will grace the Roanoke Yellow and White Pages telephone
directory. The Roanoke directory features Bell Atlantic's new Yellow and
White Pages cover design that highlights where people live and work in an
unique "Points of Pride" montage for each of the 13 states and the District
of Columbia in its region.

The Bell Atlantic directories for Roanoke feature icons in the shape of
Virginia on the cover. The icons symbolize the general points of interest,
as well as the specific "Points of Pride" for a particular geographic region
within Virginia.

Bell Atlantic is currently delivering nearly 214,000 copies of the Roanoke
editions of the co-bound Yellow and White Pages to area residents and
businesses.
