PRIMECO PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS CHOOSES TAMPA FOR
NEW CUSTOMER CARE CENTER - PRIMECO’S COMMITMENT TO FLORIDA
CONTINUES

Tampa, FL. - Furthering its commitment to bring
the next generation of wireless communication that is easy to
use, buy and afford, PrimeCo Personal Communications, L.P. has
chosen Tampa for the site of a new state-of-the-art Customer Care
Center. The Center will create up to 300 jobs for the Bay area
in the next six months. The site, located at The University Center
for Business Complex, in the northeast quadrant of 30th Street
and Bougainvillea, will house a new 40,000 sq. ft. custom-designed
Customer Care Center for the wireless communications alliance
of AirTouch Communications, Bell Atlantic, NYNEX and US WEST Media
Group.

The new Center, currently under construction, is scheduled for
completion in September and will be one of four PrimeCo Customer
Care centers in the country. It will feature more than $2.1 million
in advanced customer service technology and equipment.

“Once again, PrimeCo is setting the pace for the PCS industry,”
said Dan Behuniak, president, Southeast Region. “This new
Customer Care Center will offer world-class services for our customers,
giving PrimeCo a competitive edge when we introduce our products
later this year.”

The Bay area and Florida have already benefited from PrimeCo’s
decision to locate its Southeast Region Office in Tampa. To date,
PrimeCo has created more than 217 new jobs for Florida. By year
end, PrimeCo’s Customer Care Center and Southeast Region
will employ more than 600 people throughout Florida with an annual
salary impact of more than $20 million. In addition, PrimeCo’s
Southeast Region will have made a capital investment of more then
$211 million.

“We’re thrilled that Florida is our home,” said
Behuniak. “Quality workforce, competitive lease prices
and business incentives made Tampa a natural choice for our new
Customer Care Center.”

The Tampa Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100 and support from
local and county governments were instrumental in PrimeCo’s
decision to locate its Southeast
Region Office and Customer Care Center in Tampa. PrimeCo will
take advantage of the many business incentives Tampa and the State
of Florida offer start-up and relocating companies. Customer
Care Consultants will be trained through the Industry Services
Training Program offered by the Hillsborough County School District.
The statewide Quick Response Program (QRT) offers financial incentives
for training within Florida.

“The Committee of 100 has been active in every phase of
this project’s development and the local governments have
been supportive since we opened our offices here last year,”
said Behuniak. “Together, they made this decision an easy
one.”

Designed and constructed by Opus South Corporation, the new building
will be situated on 4.55 acres of land. Opus was able to meet
PrimeCo’s tight construction deadlines.

“Opus and the City of Tampa clearly understood the magnitude
and urgency of this project,” said Behuniak. “We’re
delighted that we could come to an agreement in such a short time
frame.”
