BELL ATLANTIC LAUNCHES NEW INVESTOR INFORMATION
SITE ON THE INTERNET

Philadelphia, PA -- Starting today, Internet surfers
everywhere will
be able to get comprehensive investor information about Bell Atlantic,
from a completely revamped Investor Information site on the World Wide
Web. This site features enhanced graphics, improved navigation and
functionality, and new expanded content.

Designed for both current and potential investors, the new site
(http://www.bell-atl.com/invest)
represents the latest of several
enhancements to the highly regarded Investor Information site,
introduced in June, 1995. In the new version, a site map allows users
to view the entire layout of information at a glance and hot link
directly to the pages they wish to visit. There is also a convenient
way to e-mail questions and comments to Bell Atlantic's Investor
Relations and Shareowner Services personnel.

"Providing investors quality information in a timely manner is our
top
priority," said Kevin Tarrant, director - Bell Atlantic investor
communications. "The capabilities of the World Wide Web present a
unique opportunity to deliver comprehensive information about Bell
Atlantic. Eventually, we plan to give shareowners the ability to
transact business with our transfer agent electronically, including
the purchase of shares. We will continually improve the information
on our site and update the data on a timely basis."

The site has five major categories: Corporate Overview, Financial
Information, Business and Investment Profiles, Shareowner Services and
Investor News.

The Corporate
Overview includes business structure, historical stock
performance and dividend information, quarterly share statistics, and
stock price quotes. Financial
Information includes the 1994 and 1995
annual reports, quarterly financial and operating results,
comprehensive annual financial results from 1990 - 1995, links to
Securities and Exchange Commission filings and key financial dates in
1996. The Business and
Investment Profiles section details the market
opportunities and strategic initiatives in the company's existing and
emerging businesses.

The Shareowner
Services category contains transfer agent information,
plus details on Dividend Reinvestment, Electronic Funds Transfer, and
other shareowner programs. Investor News
includes news releases on
earnings, dividends, business unit activities, Bell Atlantic's
proposed merger with NYNEX and excerpts from Strategic Update, a new
quarterly investor brochure.
