WorldCom Launches Fixed-Wireless High-Speed Internet Service in Memphis

Offers Business Customers New Choice for Broadband
Service

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Nov. 15, 2000 - WorldCom, Inc. (NASDAQ: WCOM)
today announced the introduction and immediate availability of its new
fixed-wireless MMDS (multichannel multipoint distribution service)
high-speed Internet access service in Memphis, the company's first
commercial launch of the service in the U.S. WorldCom plans to rollout
its fixed-wireless broadband service in 30 markets nationwide by the
end of 2001 as part of its push to deliver next generation
communications services for the digital generation.

WorldCom's fixed-wireless service delivers reliable high-speed
Internet access with guaranteed performance up to 30 times faster than
a conventional dial-up modem to customers within 35 miles of a
centrally located transmittal tower. Because WorldCom's fixed-wireless
service is easier and more cost-effective to deploy than traditional
broadband services, it offers a quick and convenient alternative to
other services or an immediate high-speed access opportunity for
customers in areas where DSL and cable broadband are unavailable.

"Our initial focus with fixed-wireless broadband service will
be on small- to medium-sized businesses, apartment complexes and
business parks," said Robert Kaiser of WorldCom Broadband
Solutions. "Along with this new choice for high-speed Internet
access service in Memphis, WorldCom is committed to providing our
broadband customers with speedy service installation, guaranteed
performance, reliability and full customer support.

"We've all heard the horror stories about the long wait for
the installation of broadband service. WorldCom will stand out in the
crowd - offering incredible speed to market, especially for our
broadband fixed-wireless service, which can be installed in less than a
week," Kaiser emphasized.

The introduction of WorldCom's fixed-wireless broadband service not
only offers a new high-speed Internet access alternative, but also
makes Memphis the first market to benefit from WorldCom's model
broadband strategy for the future. As part of its 'generation
d' initiative to help its customers expand their e-business
capabilities in the explosive e-commerce marketplace, WorldCom offers a
wide range of high-speed data communications services - including MMDS
fixed-wireless, DSL and fiber-optic technologies - to provide
custom-tailored, scalable solutions to meet each customer's individual
needs.

"Customers across America are clamoring for high-speed Internet
connections, and WorldCom is ideally positioned to deliver the widest
range of access solutions and unmatched IP service capabilities to meet
their needs," said Kaiser.
