Under terms of the agreement, WorldCom will provide The Weather Channel with Internet colocation services for weather.com, the most popular source of online weather information and the Web site of The Weather Channel. Through its Data Center Services, WorldCom will deliver the underlying communications infrastructure to ensure weather.com is continuously available to provide weather information for 80,000 locations worldwide and relevant content to help more than 14 million unique users per month plan for everyday life.
weather.com's hosted solution enables The Weather Channel to provide visitors with continuously updated weather information, including current conditions, 10-day forecasts and radar maps.weather.com also provides personalized content and information for a wide range of activities and interests including travel, health, recreation and more. Additionally, The Weather Channel relies on WorldCom's enterprise voice services, frame relay, dedicated Internet access and conferencing services to ensure its business runs smoothly.
