In pursuit of a new smartphone, Hank Abrahams, 22, of Stanhope, N.J., waited overnight to be first in line today (9/19/14) at the Verizon Wireless store in Succasunna, N.J. A Verizon Wireless customer for nine years, Hank, a crane mechanic, cites the network coverage and reliability as important reasons for choosing Verizon Wireless.
“My work takes me to some very remote places,” said Hank. He said, “Verizon’s network has never let me down. That’s why it was worth it to me to get on a line, brave the cold and stay overnight. I also love the customer service – never had a problem. I am happy with my new device. Even bought a car charger and case.”
For many who chose to either switch to or stay with Verizon Wireless, network quality and service are important factors in their decision-making. Here’s what some of them said:
"I'm switching to Verizon because I've heard the best things about Verizon's 4G LTE network. During my research,” said Todd Awbrey of Eureka, MO, who was on line at the Brentwood, MO Verizon Wireless store since 4:00 a.m., “I called the main Verizon number and spoke to an actual person with no wait time - that was really impressive!"
Aaron Roberts of St. Louis, MO, was also on the line at the Brentwood store, waiting since 6:00 a.m. for the store’s 8:00 a.m. opening to get his iOS device. "Over the years, I've been on all the networks. I'm coming back to Verizon today.”
Lisa Oliver of Spring Hill, FL is also a new customer who switched from a competing provider. Her reason for switching, she said at the Brooksville, FL Verizon Wireless store, is that all her friends and family are happy Verizon Wireless customers. “They have good coverage and I never did.” Oliver also said, “Thanks again for such a great experience this morning, everyone has been so friendly and helpful! I don't know why I didn't switch to Verizon sooner!”
Nathan Terry of Denver, a stay-at-home father and entrepreneur, has been a Verizon Wireless customer for 12 years. He waited in line at the store at Park Meadows in Lone Tree, CO for about 40 minutes this morning.” Originally from Oklahoma, he is thrilled with the network. “Service is great. I’ve been a customer of every carrier, and it’s the best service I’ve had for where I go – especially on the drive back and forth to Oklahoma.”
“I just wanted a bigger screen; this is going to be ideal for me,” said Ron Atkinson, a retired grandfather from Castle Pines, CO who shopped at Park Meadows. “I still do some business, and I have a lot of use for a cool smartphone. The network is a catalyst why I chose Verizon Wireless. My grandchildren are going to think I’m pretty smart and hip.”
