Verizon Wireless has a growing number of stores and network facilities that have earned LEED® and Energy Star certifications for environmental design and efficiency. The company’s 100th Energy Star store was recently certified in Santa Maria, California.
Also, recycling rallies sponsored by the Verizon Sustainability Team took place in Colorado Springs, Phoenix and Salt Lake City that kept several tons of computers, TVs, small appliances and other electronic waste out of local landfills. All of the collected electronic items were recycled or disposed in an environmentally-friendly way.
