At Verizon, we’re committed to serving those who serve us. Veterans play a critical role at Verizon with more than 10,000 service members as part of our team.

Putting our military first is a team effort. That's why we’ve joined forces with important partners like Hiring Our Heroes. The Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) Corporate Fellowship Program provides transitioning service members with management training and hands-on experience in the civilian workforce, preparing them for smooth transitions into civilian careers. The program was created by the Department of Defense and is administered by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Since 2018, Verizon has participated in seven HOH cohorts that have resulted in a total of 26 new hires with a 100% retention rate. This week, we are proud to announce our biggest cohort to date with 16 Fellows starting an 11-week program. Members of this cohort are joining from the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, and the Navy, and will support areas across the business in Corporate, Global Network and Technology, Verizon Business Group and Verizon Consumer Group.

“For decades, Verizon has been committed to supporting veterans and we are proud to have more than 10,000 as fellow Verizon employees,” said Andrés Irlando, senior vice president and president, Public Sector and Verizon Connect at Verizon. “We recognize the value and sacrifice of their military experience and are fortunate to benefit from their skills, discipline and pursuit of excellence that veterans bring from serving in the Armed Services.”
