BASKING RIDGE, N.J. – Today, Hans Vestberg, Chairman and CEO of Verizon, announced significant support for the Skyhook Foundation. Verizon’s resources will help an organization that provides underserved youth access to education and opportunity they otherwise might not receive.
“I’m excited to announce our support of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s Skyhook Foundation,” said Hans. “At Verizon, our strategy is focused on using our network and 5G technology to advance human prosperity, and part of that is ensuring kids and communities have access to the tools and resources they need to actively engage in the world. The Skyhook Foundation lifts up youth who don’t have those opportunities, and we’re here to help close that gap.”
“These critical resources will help the Skyhook Foundation bring educational STEM opportunities to underserved communities across Southern California,” said Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, founder and Chairman of the Skyhook Foundation. “With the support of Verizon, we will be able to further invest in youth education - and that’s not just an investment in the student, but also in their family, peers, and the communities where they live.”
