Verizon Global Wholesale is Now Verizon Partner Solutions

In a move designed to emphasize the evolving relationship with its client base, Verizon is unveiling a new name for its wholesale carrier business — Verizon Partner Solutions. The newly renamed unit, previously known as Verizon Global Wholesale, will maintain its focus on working with carriers, local service providers, Internet service providers, aggregators, integrators, resellers and content providers, worldwide. Verizon Partner Solutions will continue to be led by Eric Cevis and his current global leadership team.

Verizon Partner Solutions offers a portfolio of advanced IT, communications and networking solutions. These solutions leverage Verizon’s global IP and wireless networks, cloud and data center services, managed security services, etc. Clients use these solutions to supplement their own capabilities and deliver communications and technology services to customers around the world.

“Our new name represents the evolution this segment of our business has undergone over the past decade,” said Eric Cevis, president of Verizon Partner Solutions. “While delivering world-class networks will continue to be the foundation of what we do, our focus is much broader. By helping our clients operate more efficiently, use technology as a competitive advantage and meet their customers’ requirements, we are enabling effective entrance into new markets, creation of new revenue streams and development of new business models.”

Leveraging Advanced Technology to Drive Performance and Business Results

The wholesale industry continues to experience enormous change, driven by the rapid pace of technological advancement, an evolving competitive landscape, shifting regulatory environments and ever-changing customer expectations.

The following technology trends are playing a crucial role in redefining how the entire industry ecosystem cooperates and collaborates with its customers and partners, manifesting itself via new geographic, vertical-market focused go-to-market and channel-to-market strategies.

  • Global IP traffic increased fivefold over the previous five years and is expected to increase threefold over the next five years. (CISCO)
  • By 2018, 61 percent of all IP traffic will originate from non-PC devices, such as tablets, smartphones and machine-to-machine (M2M) modules. (CISCO)
  • The number of M2M connections in the U.S. alone is expected to reach more than 78 million in 2018. (Frost & Sullivan)
  • Cloud spending by governments and enterprises is predicted to reach nearly $24 billion by 2017. (Boston Consulting Group)

“Technology is clearly an enabler for business success, and those organizations that are agile and early to adopt advanced technologies gain competitive advantage in highly competitive markets,” Cevis said. “Based on a foundation of world-class networks that deliver platforms and solutions engineered for innovation, Verizon Partner Solutions is built for the growth markets of the future.”
