NEW YORK – Verizon Communications Inc. today announced that its subsidiary, Verizon New York Inc., will redeem the entire outstanding principal amount of its $250,000,000 6.70% Debentures, due November 1, 2023 (CUSIP 650094 CA1) (the “Securities”). The redemption date for the Securities will be November 18, 2013 (the “Redemption Date”). 

The redemption price for the Securities will be equal to 100% of the principal amount of the Securities, plus accrued and unpaid interest to the Redemption Date, and will be payable on the Redemption Date. Interest will cease to accrue on and after the Redemption Date with respect to the Securities.
