PARIS - Verizon Business has certified the ADTRAN NetVanta 6310 IP Business Gateway for deployment with the company's Verizon IP Integrated Access solution in Europe and the U.S. This is the first certification of an ADTRAN solution for Verizon in the European market and brings a new level of flexibility and choice for Verizon Business' multinational customers looking to implement voice-over-Internet protocol (VoIP) communications.

Designed specifically for the small- to medium-sized business and enterprise markets, the NetVanta 6310 is a modular IP business gateway that combines the functionality of a business-class, multiservice router with a VoIP gateway. When offered in combination with Verizon IP Integrated Access, the gateway helps offer a quality voice and data solution with enhanced cost efficiencies.

Verizon IP Integrated Access is designed for businesses that wish to keep their existing key telephone system or PBX but still want to leverage the benefits of VoIP technology. The scalable IP integrated access solution enables companies to consolidate their voice and data services onto one Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) based VoIP network -- simplifying network management and driving operational efficiencies by controlling the costs associated with maintaining traditional voice services.

"ADTRAN is known for the high quality and value of its product line," said Jim Tyrrell, vice president of marketing for Verizon's global business voice solutions.  "In combination with Verizon Business' own integrated access services, we are able to quickly and easily help small- to medium-sized businesses and enterprises realize the network and operational efficiencies provided by Verizon VoIP.  The end result for them is increased productivity and enhanced competitive advantage that is of strategic importance to all business customers."

Dennis Gatens, director of strategy, ADTRAN Enterprise Networks Division, said, "We are pleased to expand our role as a strategic vendor for Verizon Business. Strengthening our role with partners such as Verizon Business is a key element of our continued success as a leading global provider of converged IP solutions."
Stuart Curzon, group vice president for international sales Verizon Business EMEA, said: "ADTRAN brings real choice to customers of our European VoIP integrated access solution. It offers a cost-effective way for small- to medium-sized businesses and enterprises to migrate to VoIP at their own pace."
Verizon IP Integrated Access is currently available in the U.S. and 10 European countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the U.K.

Verizon Business has previously certified ADTRAN Total Access 900 and NetVanta solutions for services in the U.S.
