For the past four years, we’ve been named a Top Military-Friendly Company — and we’re excited to keep the momentum going! Just in time for National Veterans and Military Families Month, we’re proud to announce three great military accolades.

First, Verizon has been ranked as the #2 Military Friendly Company for 2022. Second, we’ve received the 2021 HIRE Vets Medallion for the first time in our history. Third, we’re back in the top 15 of the 2021 Best for Vets: Employer survey.

With over 8,000 veterans among our ranks, we’re honored to receive these awards.

All in for the military community - 2022 #2 Military-Friendly® Company.

Our recognition as the #2 2022 Military-Friendly Company signifies our overall dedication to the recruitment, retention and advancement of veterans and service members. Companies that earn this designation are known for creating and elevating the standard for military programs across the globe.

Our Military Friendly Company designation is for organizations that have met or exceeded the standards in at least three out of these four critical areas of commitment to the military community. Here’s how Verizon ranks:

#3 Military Spouse Employer.

We’ve also been recognized for our commitment to providing exceptional opportunities for veteran and military spouses. This year, we moved up in our ranking, being named the #3 Military Spouse Employer for 2022.

#2 Military Friendly Supplier Diversity Programs.

By working closely with veteran-owned business supplier programs, we’ve been ranked #2 in the Military Friendly Supplier Diversity category.

#3 Military Friendly Brand.

This ranking highlights our commitment to providing the best opportunities for veterans and military spouses.

Gold Designation Military Friendly Employer.

This ranking highlights our commitment to the recruiting, hiring and training of veterans.

First-time recipient - 2021 HIRE Vets Medallion.

We are excited to receive the 2021 HIRE Vets Medallion Award, the only federal-level veterans' employment award that recognizes a company or organization's commitment to veteran hiring, retention, and professional development.

The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act of 2017 (HIRE Vets Act or the Act), requires the Secretary of Labor to establish a program, by rule, that recognizes employer efforts to recruit, employ, and retain veterans. Employer-applicants meeting criteria established in the rule receive a “HIRE Vets Medallion Award.” There are different awards for large employers (500-plus employees), medium employers (51-499 employees), and small employers (50 or fewer employees).

Verizon was presented the award at a virtual ceremony hosted from the Department's headquarters in Washington, D.C on Nov. 10, 2021.

Roaring back into the Top 15 of 2021 - Best for Vets: Employer rankings.

The Military Times 2021 Best for Vets: Employer rankings are based on a survey covering company culture, veteran recruitment, military policies and accommodations for Reservist employees. The 2021 survey captured the areas of greatest importance to transitioning service members, veterans, and their families when looking for an employer. Recruitment and employment practices, as well as retention and support programs, were given the most weight and importance in scoring and final rankings.

We’re proud to rank #12 out of nearly 200 companies and other organizations that completed the survey. Best for Vets is another example of our commitment to supporting military members and their families because it’s the right thing to do, and because of the dedication and experience these V Teamers bring to our business. We’re honored to have them on our team and proud to be recognized for our commitment to the military community.
