Supporting India

As the COVID-19 situation in India remains dire, a reminder of what we’re doing to support our V Teamers there. We’re:

  • Working with local partners to give employees in India access to vaccines
  • Offering ambulance service support and food assistance
  • Setting up isolation centers for those who need to quarantine
  • Offering other resources which include our 24/7 helpline, the COVID-19 care management team, our COVID-19 employee resource page and our Employee Assistance Program.

A reminder that today is the last day that you can donate to support COVID-19 relief efforts in India and boost it with the two-for-one company match. Send as much love and support as you can for our V Teamer family.

Global Citizen Vax Live concert

Up To Speed host Andy Choi, Chief Marketing Officer Diego Scotti, Ad Council CEO Lisa Sherman and Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans shared news of Saturday’s mega concert and how Verizon is playing a key role.

“When you think about it, there is probably no bigger issue right now than vaccine education,” said Lisa. The Ad Council looked to partner with brands to find a way to make a difference. Through Diego, Verizon was the very first corporate partner to step forward with this effort.

One of the highlights of this enormous project takes place tomorrow when the Ad Council, Global Citizen, Verizon and other brands, all partner to present Vax Live, a concert promoting the importance of everyone getting vaccinated. The show will be headlined by J-Lo, H.E.R. and Eddie Vedder, along with appearances by Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and the President and First Lady of the United States. Check it out on ABC, CBS and a host of other networks and websites tomorrow at 8PM ET/5PM PT.

Citizen Verizon

Diego also shared three new “Leave no one behind” spots highlighting our Citizen Verizon work, including one on the digital divide, another on climate protection, and a third on human prosperity focused on helping small businesses thrive.
