On today’s Friday edition of Up To Speed, host Raquel Wilson shared the following updates:

Up To Speed: Week in review

‘O’ my: Experience Cirque du Soleil

Have you dreamed of seeing the jaw-dropping, art-meets-circus performance of Cirque du Soleil? Thanks to the power of Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband, you now can experience an augmented reality Snapchat filter inspired by Cirque du Soleil’s renowned “O” performance. Snapchatters will be transported to an underwater world with the show’s iconic images and characters appearing in the palms of their hands. The experience culminates with inviting Snapchatters to enter the realm of “O” by transforming into one of the show’s most identifiable and expressive characters.

An insider’s view of the Oscars

You won’t want to miss the Academy Awards this Sunday, especially if you’re a Verizon customer. With Verizon’s 5G Ultra Pass, you’ll get to explore exclusive 360-degree backstage and red-carpet views, and you’ll be able to stay connected throughout the show by voting on all the best moments for a chance to win some prizes.

Up To Speed’s own Adi Wineland paid a visit this week to Oscar’s Hollywood home, the Dolby Theatre. He spoke with Verizon’s Jaclyn Lazarus, a Systems Architecture Principal Engineer, who shared how 5G Ultra Wideband technology shapes this ultimate fan experience.

Head to the Verizon 5G portal Sunday night, when all the action will start streaming.

5G UW expansion

Good news! Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband has expanded in four new cities: Atlanta, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Denver. We continue to be on pace for 5G Ultra Wideband to cover 175 million people by the end of the year.

Verizon Connect and AWS

Verizon Connect recently migrated Verizon Connect Reveal – our comprehensive fleet-management software platform – to Amazon Web Services. Verizon Connect, now fully on AWS, utilizes the AWS multiple Availability Zone architecture for solutions that are secure, scalable and reliable, and also enable continued growth for Verizon Connect.

Motorola Edge+ 5G UW

Looking for a slick new 5G smartphone with an epic camera system and a brilliant display? Look no further. The Motorola Edge+ 5G UW will be available online and at Verizon stores March 24. Bluejeans Studio Award

Congratulations to our BlueJeans studio team! BlueJeans by Verizon has been awarded a Best of Enterprise Connect 2022 Award.

First C-Band Adapter

Verizon is announcing a new partnership with Cradlepoint to deliver enterprise-grade 5G wireless solutions on our 5G Ultra Wideband, a significant milestone for Verizon’s 5G Fixed Wireless Access Strategy. Cradlepoint is the first adapter to be certified for Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network.

The new service will utilize Cradlepoint’s W1850 5G Wideband Adapter to provide C-band spectrum connectivity across Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband Network.

Extended Ukraine Relief

If you’re in Boston, you’ll see that our Verizon hub building is adorned with beautiful blue and yellow lights as a symbol of our support for those impacted by the situation in Ukraine. We’re also expanding our call, text and data relief in Ukraine, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania and Slovakia through March 31.

You can text to donate to UNICEF, the Salvation Army and the International Rescue Committee. And check out the Citizen Verizon Volunteers Portal to see how you can help.

Earth Hour

Don’t forget that this Saturday is Earth Hour! Citizen Verizon is challenging all of us to turn off our lights from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. ET. If you want to take it a step further, plant a tree in your garden, bike instead of drive, or eat vegan for a day (perhaps if you’re not already doing one or more of those things). Whatever you do, share it with the Citizen Verizon team by tagging @Verizon and use #IAMVZ and #SeizeTheHour as hashtags. Sign up and find out more details.
