It’s the first day of March and the official start of Women’s History Month — a perfect time to aspire to and create an inclusive, gender-equal world, free of stereotypes and discrimination.

Our events kick off today with our WAVE LinkedIn Live webcast, featuring Magda Yrizarry, Verizon’s Chief Diversity Officer; and Deborah Tsai Munster, Seramount’s Vice President of People, Culture & Operations. The discussion will dive into existing biases and how we can break down related barriers.

Another date to circle on your calendar is March 8, when Raquel Wilson and Diana Alvear will host an International Women’s Day event with Women’s CoLab and Bustle. The event will feature discussions with women who have conquered challenges throughout their careers. With leaders from Chipotle, Walmart, Kimberly-Clark and Verizon slated to participate, it’s an event you won’t want to miss!

There’s also much more on tap, including a special WAVE event with Verizon’s Consumer Customer Service group later this month, when a BlueJeans panel of amazing V Teamers from across the business will share personal journeys that led them to where they are today. Look for that event on March 23.

Plus, there will be many opportunities to get involved and give back through a variety of volunteer opportunities with Citizen Verizon, our business plan for social responsibility.

We look forward to celebrating the stories and accomplishments of so many inspiring women, including women you know! Email your own inspiring Women’s History Month story to the Good mailbox (good@verizon.com).
