It’s June and we’re excited… school’s out, Junteenth is around the corner, and of course, it’s time for the celebration that is Pride Month!
This month, we’re coming together to support and recognize the LGBTQ+ community with our PRISM Employee Resource Group. Jen was joined today by PRISM’s Executive Sponsor and EVP of Global Services Craig Silliman and PRISM’s Global Finance Lead Sadie Sharp-Garcia.
This year’s theme is: Proud to be me. Here’s why:
- Inclusivity is at the core of who we are here at Verizon.
- The LGBTQ+ community values our network. It can be a lifeline to a supportive digital global community.
- As we grow and develop our LGBTQ+ employee community, we must create a safe and supportive environment where they can work and thrive.
- The work we do at Verizon is huge, and to pull it off, V Teamers need to be all in. That means bringing our whole selves to work.
- That’s why ERGs like PRISM are so important. They give employees a place to connect with their community, share what they’re going through and get insights and encouragement.

It’s parade season here at Verizon. This Sunday, June 9, is the 67th anniversary of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade! The SOMOS ERG is excited to be involved in this year’s parade to support our puertoriqueños – and they’re encouraging V Teamers across the New York-New Jersey-Connecticut tri-state area to come out and watch.
🍖 Satellite Solutions Group cooks up a great way to help their community [14:49]
Last week, North Texas was impacted by severe storms that caused serious problems with damaged property, debris and power outages. One of the areas impacted was the city of Richardson, just outside of Dallas.
A tasty way to help: The Satellite Solutions Group partnered with Operations BBQ Relief to serve more than 500 meals for the local community (some members of which had been without power for days), including the Richardson and Dallas Fire and Police departments.
