OMNITEL, ITALY'S FIRST PRIVATE GSM OPERATOR,
LAUNCHES A NEW PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN
Monthly subscription fees for new customers are
waived
and new prices are announced on Omnitel handsets
MILAN - Omnitel, Italy's first private GSM operator,
announced today a
new promotional offer targeting new customers to the company's GSM
service. Until June 1, all new subscribers' to Omnitel's cellular
service will see their monthly subscription fee waived until December
31. The company also announced new pricing for its entire line of GSM
handsets.
Omnitel's new promotion is applicable to all new customers that choose
to subscribe to the company's Night & Day, Free Time or Business Time
tariff plans. Subscribers to Omnitel's PLUS plan - the plan that
targets corporate users interested in 10 or more subscriptions - will
be offered free activation instead of a waiver on the monthly
subscription fee. Omnitel's new promotional offer also applies to the
company's PROFIT plan which targets users interested in starting three
or more subscriptions. Omnitel's PROFIT plan offers customers
incremental discounts on activation fees.
Omnitel also announced new prices for its entire line of GSM phones.

- Motorola 8200 MicroTac handset - Lire 890.000 (VAT included)
- Ericcson handset - Lire 990.000 (VAT included)
- Omnitel 911 handset+second battery - Lire 990.000 (VAT included)
- Nokia 2110 handset+car charger - Lire 990.000 (VAT included)
Omnitel's GSM network covers 48% of the territory and 75% of the
population.
