RESTON, Va. - Residents of four multifamily communities in Massachusetts, Northern Virginia and suburban Maryland developed by Irving, Texas-based JPI will enjoy the best in broadband communications from Verizon via fiber optic-cables that will deliver a bundle of FiOS Internet and TV services to each apartment.
The communities are: Dedham Station, a 300-unit, three-building development in Dedham, Mass.; the Jefferson at Inigo's Crossing, a 473-unit high-rise in North Bethesda, Md.; Jefferson at Sullivan Place, a 498-apartment development in Fairfax County, Va.; and The Byron, an eight-story, mixed-use project, including 90 residential condominiums, in Falls Church, Va. They will be among the first new-construction multifamily customers in the country to have Verizon's FiOS bundle of calling, high-speed internet and video services.
"Every JPI community provides a comprehensive package of the best possible services and technologies," said Henry Pye, assistant vice president at JPI Partners LLC. "That includes Verizon's revolutionary fiber-to-the-premises distribution network and its ultramodern FiOS services."
Each unit will be served via its own fiber-optic cable tied to a flush-mounted service delivery panel in the apartment and linked by high-capacity cables to faceplates throughout the unit.
"We've worked closely with Verizon's design team and engineers to optimize the delivery system from the street to each apartment. Verizon's design team went to great lengths to assure a cost-effective solution for the property owner while simultaneously enabling uncompromising, innovative services," Pye said.
Verizon is the only major telecom company installing fiber right into homes on a mass scale across the United States.
Verizon currently offers packages of calling, high-speed Internet access up to 30 megabits per second, as well as FiOS TV, which delivers more than 220 broadcast and 22 high-definition channels, where available. FiOS TV will be immediately available once the Fairfax and Falls Church communities are built, and will be added to the others upon approval of local franchise agreements.
"The JPI projects are among the first major new construction multifamily installations we've engaged as part of our aggressive effort to serve the multifamily market and meet the needs of developers, owners and residents with our fiber-to-the-premises technology," said Eric Cevis, vice president of Verizon's Enhanced Communities team. "JPI recognizes the differentiating factor that the best in telecommunications brings to its properties and was committed early on to working with Verizon to make the installations first-rate."
