OF PAGING
SERVICE

Iusabeep Adds to Integrated Communications Package

Mexico City -- Bell Atlantic announced today that its
Latin American
communications venture with Grupo Iusacell, S.A. de C.V. (NYSE: CEL,
CEL.D), has launched a new paging service in Mexico called Iusabeep.

Beginning today, nationwide and international paging service is
available to Iusacell customers from seven principal cities: Mexico
City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Puebla, Toluca, Ciudad Jaurez, and
Cuernavaca. Coverage of Mexico's other urban centers is scheduled
over the next few months.

"The paging market represents another major growth opportunity for

Wireless. "With Mexican consumers already showing an affinity for
new
wireless services, a complementary offering like Iusabeep is a natural
for adoption in the market."

In the US, about 30 percent of the country's 38 million cellular
customers also use pagers.

Iusabeep's distribution network includes Grupo Iusacell's existing
direct and indirect cellular sales and service network channels.

The range of services offered by Iusabeep includes numeric and
alphanumeric basic service as well as value-added services such as
access to news reports, exchange rates, and customized information.
