REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - Excite, Inc. (NASDAQ: XCIT) today announced an agreement with GTE New Media Services Incorporated, an affiliate of GTE Directories Corporation, one of the world's largest publishers of print Yellow Pages, to integrate GTE's SuperPages interactive service into the Excite and WebCrawler services.

Consumers have instant access to the co-branded SuperPages service from the Excite and WebCrawler services. Where appropriate, national business information is integrated within the context of Excite's and WebCrawler's popular content channels. For example, consumers visiting the Excite Travel channel have one-click access to GTE's SuperPages service.

GTE's SuperPages delivers unique consumer offerings
GTE's SuperPages service features comprehensive and accurate business information on more than 11 million businesses in the United States. GTE's SuperPages service features a unique keyword search of business "Fact Files" and other information attached to business listings. The service also offers a feature that allows users to refine search results based on distance from the users' location. The proximity search feature also combines driving directions, delivering step-by-step instructions for users to reach selected business locations.
