Bell Atlantic, 4-Sight to Promote Advantages of ISDN
to Prepress, Printing and Publishing Markets
ARLINGTON, Va. -- Bell Atlantic and 4-Sight today
announced they will work together to bring the benefits of
ISDN to the prepress, printing and publishing market.
The two companies are launching an aggressive promotional campaign
using trade shows, seminars and direct mail advertising to expand use
of ISDN, an all-digital
network technology that combines voice,
data and video signals on a single telephone line, and transmits them at
speeds from up to 1 megabyte a minute to 10 megabytes a minute.
"ISDN is poised to revolutionize the prepress and graphics
industry,"
said Diane Brown, ISDN product manager for Bell Atlantic. "ISDN
offers an affordable, reliable, quick and worldwide solution for
moving large data files between different sites in just a matter of
seconds."
"The prepress and graphics industry is a key market that has yet to
discover the benefits of ISDN technology. Through our alliance with
4-Sight, a leading supplier of ISDN solutions in this market, we
expect to create high-value opportunities for using ISDN," Brown said.
4-Sight, with U.S. headquarters in Woburn, MA, develops, markets and
supports communications software solutions incorporating ISDN, OPI and
FAX technologies. The company licenses its technology to a number of
prepress vendors and markets a range of products through worldwide
distribution channels.
"The Bell Atlantic region has over 25,000 potential 4-Sight
customers,
making this region a key part of our focus," said Lyndon Stickley,
president of 4-Sight. "In addition, we are excited by Bell
Atlantic's
proactive approach towards the ISDN education for the prepress
market."
The two companies will kick off their promotional campaign with ISDN
demonstrations using 4-Sight's flagship product, iSDN Manager, an
easy-to-use, hardware independent file transfer solution, at Graph
Expo in Philadelphia Sept. 29-Oct. 2. 4-Sight and Bell Atlantic also
will demonstrate ISDN file transfer solutions at MultiCom, a
Washington, D.C. trade show, on Oct. 16 and 17.
Bell Atlantic and 4-Sight will take the concept on the road in a
series of educational seminars throughout the region. These are
two-hour presentations where customers can get hands-on experience
with ISDN applications and learn how ISDN can make their businesses
more efficient and profitable. The seminars are free, but space will
be limited. Customers may sign up for the seminars by responding to a
direct mail piece that will be distributed in early November or by
calling 4-Sight toll-free at 1-888-ISDN-MGR (4736-647). The
seminars
will be held in Baltimore, MD, on Dec. 2; Philadelphia, PA, on Dec. 4;
and Cherry Hill, NJ, on Dec. 5.
