BOLD (Black Originators Leaders and Doers) is our employee resource group (ERG) committed to shaping Verizon’s culture of inclusion. BOLD’s mission is to build partnerships that break barriers, foster a sense of community and create a safe environment to help better develop and retain a culturally diverse workforce.
In solidarity against racial injustice, our BOLD ERG recently partnered with Ten10Design, a Black Woman-owned business to design and produce a new t-shirt that supports racial justice. The black on black Verizon check design shows the significance and importance of the community both in our company and beyond.
For each shirt sold, a donation of $5.00 will be made on behalf of Verizon to the National Urban League, which works to provide economic empowerment, educational opportunities and the guarantee of civil rights for the underserved in America.

BOLD’s theme for 2020 is Elevate and Empower. Through social responsibility initiatives, the overall goal is to stamp our commitment to racial justice while empowering our communities to work toward a better world. In addition to our new t-shirts, we have also worked to forward this mission through our Juneteenth celebration.
During our Juneteenth Census Celebration, Verizon’s BOLD ERG partnered with HuffPost and EveryDopeGirl for a Juneteenth celebration with an emphasis on the importance of completing the 2020 Census and voting in the upcoming election.
