Military Appreciation Month hits home for South Area Consumer Group leader.
Dr. Cynthia Granby is the wife of Verizon Consumer Group South Area leader, John Granby.
Prior to that, she spent 20 years in the United States Navy, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. She’s also spent years teaching Health Care Administration at the university level. Her research interests include preventive health services for families in the military, cultural competency in health care and ethical legal issues in health care.
John’s respect for those who serve our country has only grown since he met his wife. He recalls a specific incident that made a lasting impression.
I’ll never forget this, we had just started dating and I was in Cleveland, OH and she was stationed in Washington, DC. This was during 9-11 and at the time she was at the Pentagon. One of the planes crashed right there. For a period of time, all of the telephone services were down and so we could not get a hold of her.
