As Christmas nears and people line up to buy the latest tech gadgets and devices, FiOS customers are receiving an early gift: the immediate availability of the FiOS TV app  for download on the Xbox One gaming console.  Verizon is the first TV provider to offer a live, multichannel HD TV App integrated with Kinect, letting customers use their voice and hand gestures as remotes.

Starting today, customers who are Xbox Live Gold subscribers and who subscribe to both FiOS TV and Internet service can watch up to 74 live channels through their Xbox One consoles using the free FiOS TV app.  No additional hardware is required, and customers can integrate their TV experience with voice and gesture commands through Kinect for Xbox One.

New gaming consoles such as the Xbox One are highly sought after.  For example, one-third of gamers would give up their car for six months to be first to get a new gaming system, according to the latest edition of the FiOS Innovation Index.  We surveyed over 900 consumers, asking about their tech and console interests and found that nearly two-thirds of our respondents said they want to watch streaming video on their game console.

So now switching from first person to the Interactive Media Guide is just as easy on the Xbox One as it has been on the Xbox 360.  With the new console, customers can easily navigate and search through the apps so they don’t have to hunt through each app individually without having to juggle multiple screens across cable TV, video streaming services and other entertainment apps.

With its blazing fast Internet speeds ranging from 50/25 Mbps to 500/100Mbps and award winning reliability, Verizon offers gamers an enriched experience that helps them make it to the top on Xbox Live Gold as well as best in class entertainment experience with FiOS TV.

If you haven’t had the chance to enjoy FiOS TV on your console, there’s no better time to try!
