In 2017, to help Verizon transform into a modern, 5G-powered technology brand, the company began building its own in-house creative agency to support the business with high-quality creative ideas, speed to market, and agility.

Today, Verizon’s Creative Marketing Group is a blueprint for the in-house agency model, creating consistent branding, innovation, and marketing ideas that bring the power of America’s most reliable 5G network to life. The team has been building this award-winning profile, while also driving significant cost savings for the company by streamlining external vendor fees and costs.

The impact of Verizon’s marketing team has been recognized with more than 30 advertising awards at every major awards show so far this year, including Golds at the ANDYs, the Clios, and the One Show, a coveted Yellow Pencil from D&AD, a People’s Voice at the Webby’s, and an Effie recognizing the effectiveness of our marketing. These honors span projects from Unfolding Timbaland in support of our Samsung Galaxy Z series launch, to AR experiences like Fortnite Stadium, H1DD3N, The Met Unframed, to NFT collections for Valentine’s Day like Token of Love.

And just last week at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, Verizon was awarded a Gold Lion - the very first in company history - for 9/12: The Untold Story of Reconnecting New York, an immersive documentary that puts users in the shoes of Verizon employees who mobilized and risked their lives to reconnect the city after September 11th.

In addition, marketing leadership at the company continues to be recognized as the best in the business. Most recently, Verizon Chief Marketing Officer Diego Scotti was inducted into Forbes Most Innovative CMOs Hall of Fame in recognition of his many years as an industry changemaker, while Chief Creative Officer Andrew McKechnie was honored as a Purpose Pioneer at Campaign’s Power of Purpose Awards.

These awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the countless Verizon employees and partners that strive for greatness every day. The company’s culture of award-winning work motivates V-Teamers to continue raising the bar on creativity, innovation, and results, and this recognition belongs to each of them.
