The 5G compass points toward the 5G antennas in your neighborhood, and guides you to where in your home you're most likely to get a good signal. So when the Internet Gateway you ordered arrives, you'll be all ready to test it out.

First, the 5G compass detects the 5G antennas nearest your Verizon service address. Then it'll give you directions to navigate through your home towards them, until you reach a window or exterior-facing wall. That's where you can set up and test the Internet Gateway once it arrives.

Yes. The 5G compass is part of the My Verizon app. To use it you'll have to download the iOS or Android app and log in or register your account, if you haven't already.

Once the Verizon Internet Gateway arrives, you'll plug it in where the 5G compass directed you. If the signal is strong, a solid white light will appear. If there's a red light, you'll use the 5G compass to select another antenna and try again.

Take note of the location you found. Then clear a space for the Internet Gateway. You'll want to set it on a flat, stable surface, away from walls, furniture or other obstructions.
