Verizon Enterprise Solutions today announced it is expanding its Verizon Partner Program (VPP) into the public sector. The company hired channel veteran Alex Hart to lead this initiative and help enable public sector channel providers to offer Verizon branded, enterprise-class services to government agencies across the federal, state and local and education markets.

Through the channel program, technology providers can offer Verizon’s cloud, mobility, Internet of Things, advanced communications and intelligent networking solutions to their client base.

As the head of Verizon’s public sector channel business, Hart brings to the table extensive knowledge and experience in complex enterprise sales gained through senior leadership roles at VMware Corporation and Symantec.

“With a focus on growth, we are expanding our highly successful channel program to the public sector,” said Adam Famularo, vice president of Global Channels for Verizon Enterprise Solutions. “As the largest communications provider to the U.S. federal government, we know there is huge demand for our services and we can best fulfill this need through our Verizon Partner Program. With Alex at the helm, we are well positioned to move the business forward.”

Verizon Partner Program Provides Value

Verizon’s channel program provides local, state and federal opportunities for systems integrators, value-added resellers, agents and solution providers to accelerate the delivery and adoption of solutions to meet client needs, especially those looking to tap into Verizon’ expertise and technical capabilities in cloud, mobility, networking and the Internet of Things.

The program also helps IT resellers monitor current public sector opportunities and explore public sector RFPs, enabling them with the right resources to win and retain business.

Verizon recently signed on its first public sector channel provider, Carahsoft, a Virginia-based government IT solutions provider.

“We’re excited to join the Verizon Partner Program for public sector,” said Chad Mills, vice president for Verizon Solutions at Carahsoft. “The Verizon Partner Program and channel teams are fantastic, providing a wealth of comprehensive resources and direct support to promote our success. We look forward to helping our government customers meet their goals with Verizon’s industry leading solutions that boost productivity and provide greater information access with a high level of security.”

Public Sector Channel Program Overview

The program features a simple, tiered benefits structure that allows program members the flexibility to determine the right level of commitment. The three go-to-market models are:

  • “Sell With” – Creates opportunity to jointly market and present complementary solutions to prospective clients
  • “Resale” – Offers providers the flexibility to package and resell services
  • “Agent” – Enables providers to sell selected products/services on behalf of Verizon

The VPP also includes simple-to-use tools and clear and consistent engagement processes, as well as a training program and certification for its members. In addition, members have access to the Verizon Partner Portal that provides a secure account profile to allow users to manage the entire program from a single location.
