Verizon Enterprise Solutions is returning to DistribuTECH 2016, the world’s largest annual transmission and distribution conference and expo, to demonstrate a host of business and technology solutions aimed at accelerating grid modernization, enabling secure, reliable, safe and affordable energy infrastructure solutions and improving the customer experience. The conference will take place in Orlando, Florida at the Orange County Convention Center from Feb. 9-11.

“Business challenges such as rising capital costs, increased security requirements, regulatory compliance, integration of renewable energies and competitive pressures are creating disruption across the energy and utilities industries,” said Michael Brander, director of energy and utilities sales for Verizon’s wireless business group. “Groundbreaking advances in technology however are igniting a digital transformation which is helping to reinvent traditional business models and solve for these hurdles.”

Visitors to Verizon’s booth (# 201) will experience demonstrations of the company’s technology solutions for the energy and utilities industry including:

  • Grid Wide Utility Solutions: An Internet of Things (IoT) platform service offering utility companies an easy, secure and reliable on-ramp to grid modernization. Grid Wide offers an integrated as-a-service solution for smart metering, demand response, meter data management and distribution monitoring and control.
  • Intelligent Video: A recent addition to Verizon’s Smart Cities portfolio, Intelligent Video enables real-time monitoring of infrastructure by organizations for helping to ensure public safety.

“As a trusted technology partner with global capabilities and industry expertise, Verizon is working alongside our energy and utilities customers to drive meaningful change and build sustainable business models for the 21st century,” Brander added.
