More and more enterprises are looking to implement additional security measures to shore up their defenses in a world where cyberattacks just keep coming. To address this need, Verizon is launching a new all-in-one solution that is easily deployed and managed by Verizon, taking the burden off an enterprise’s security staff.

Verizon’s latest managed security services offering, Unified Security Services, features a pre-configured set of services that are monitored and managed by Verizon. The service is designed to protect the network edge where IP data comes in and flows out of the organization.

Unified Security Services can help organizations enhance their overall security posture, reduce complexity with remote set up by Verizon’s deployment team and reduce waste by consolidating multiple security functions into a single service.

“With Unified Security Services, we have bundled together technology, human expertise and deployment services into one convenient offering,” said Mike Denning, vice president of Global Security at Verizon Enterprise Solutions. “This solution is aimed at helping organizations — with little to no internal staff — better safeguard their networks, without adding complexity and/or more resources to their IT teams. Based on research from the 2015 Data Breach Investigations Report, this is the bare minimum set of services every organization should deploy."

According to Forrester Research’s Business Technographics Global Security Survey 2014, more than 70 percent of enterprise security technology decision-makers stated that using managed services is either a high or critical priority for their organizations. Many industry experts point to the fact that many organizations — especially small and medium businesses —lack the in-house expertise to deploy security on their own. Most medium and large companies recognize that the pace of change of security technology and the complexity of technology make choosing a managed service very attractive.

With three tiers of service (basic, intermediate and advanced) to choose from, Verizon’s Unified Security Services provides:

  • 24 x 7 service event monitoring
  • 24 x 7 device availability monitoring and alerting
  • 24 x 7 access to security support team
  • Security device O/S upgrades and patch management

Available immediately in the U.S., the new service targets:

  • Mid-sized enterprises
  • Larger organizations with regional offices or retail locations
  • Larger enterprises with connections to vendor networks
  • Enterprises with remote network or remote offices that required centralized security and controls
  • Small to medium sized businesses with limited IT staff and modest financial resources to devote to security

Future plans include the launch of a hosted version this fall and availability in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Canada in 2016. The service is available to both Verizon and non-Verizon network customers. For additional information, email securitysolutionscontact@verizon.com.
